There was a storm

It was a warm day with cotton candy clouds...
in the corn...
even the airplanes agreed...
but then perched high in the sky they saw something looming...
and it got closer...
until the grass started to whisper...
and I wouldn't bet the farm...
on staying dry...
cuz it's a long road home...
and in the distance there's a wall of water...
with sirens screaming...
it approaches...
lifting the light...
from the fields...
and pressing down...
I am still dry...
but that won't last the length of my long distance call...
and I am glad I came by car!
