Today we hung out in Cottonwood Creek until the heat of the day had passed and then filled up our Camelbacks and headed back out of the canyon towards Horseshoe Mesa. This is a picture taken from above where we camped in Cottonwood Creek. You can tell there must be water down there because those are the only trees for miles. :)

Me hanging out in camp...

This one is either taken on the way back up to Horseshoe Mesa or at Horseshoe Mesa... it all starts to look the same after a while... :P

A view from Horseshoe Mesa as the sun gets low...

... and lower...

... and lower... I couldn't decide what was prettier the sun setting or the light from the sun setting on the canyon behind me...

... and back to the sunset... it was really funny because we could see a ton of flashes up on the rim going off from people taking pictures of the sun setting... I wonder what they thought they were lighting up with their flashes??? :)

... we waited for the Moon to come up... it was the night after the full moon, I was going to wait for the full moon to come up when we were in Cottonwood Creek but we were so far in the Canyon it would have taken forever until it finally made it's appearance... as it was the Moon was at least a half hour late when we were in Horseshoe..... so to pass time we played with our headlamps.... and after all that I wasn't impressed with my moon pics... so yeah... none to show.
