We week of July 10 through about the 16th or so my parents came up for a visit. While we were waiting for them to arrive Felbie decided to put our new Wisconsin license plates on the cars. He had a bit of a problem with the Honda car... something about a bolt or nut thingie breaking and not being able to reach it with the bumper on... so off came the bumper. Never knew putting on new plates could be such a pain in the a**!!

While my parents were here we took them canoing down the St. Croix river, but it felt like we were canoing up the river because we had strong head winds. We went for a few nice bike rides and also explored Hudson a bit... this is at a park overlooking the St. Croix River. We were trying to figure out what this thing used to be... perhaps a fountain?
The beautiful St. Croix.
We also toured the historic Octagon House in downtown Hudson. It was quite a lesson in Hudson history!!
The Octagon House...
One morning my mom and I went out birding and she pointed out some poison ivy...
She found a deer tick on her pants... (it was really hot but we wore pants to keep the ticks off).

Pretty....
Since my parents visit we participated in another Regatta and Shrimp boil. This one was at our home club the St. Croix Sail Club. My friend Camille came up for a week of raspberry picking, jam making, bike riding, underwater hockey playing, and Olympics watching. Then the following weekend my friend Ian stayed with us for the weekend and we went to his friend Erturk's wedding. A very fun wedding and a nice location downtown Minneapolis. They had a beautiful outdoor reception in a park on a hill. And their cake was the best BEST wedding cake I have ever had!! Anyhow that pretty much brings me up to today. I think this weekend we will be relaxing and woodworking and the following weekend there will be another Regatta. (Labor day regatta) That will be here in Hudson as well, it should be a huge party!
